Direct Conveyors is hiring an experienced Electrical Technician to join our growing team in Franklin, Indiana.
This role focuses on internal electrical assembly and commissioning, including sensor wiring, motor connections, and safety device installation. You’ll work closely with our Manufacturing Manager and Project Engineer on high-quality, built-to-order automation projects. This position does not involve full panel design or integration work and is intended to provide additional value to our panel builder and systems integrator partners.
This position is ideal for a technician with strong wiring skills and a desire to work on innovative, real-world automation systems.
- Wire and assemble small electrical boxes and junction panels for conveyor systems
- Safely connect and terminate field I/O (sensors, pneumatic valves, limit switches, etc.)
- Install and commission motors and drives (VFD, stepper, BLDC, servo) per provided parameters
- Install and commission stepper, BLDC, and servo motor drivers
- Install safety devices such as e-stops and guard interlocks
- Interpret schematics and wiring diagrams for internal assembly tasks
- Locate information within user manuals, data sheets, and internal documentation
- Assist with basic electrical testing and system startup
- Occasionally support installations or service visits to customer facilities (low frequency, local/regional)- 2+ years of experience in industrial electrical wiring, control panels, or machinery
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC) and UL508a standards, industrial controls, and electromechanical systems
- Experience with motor and motor control theory, relay logic, and simple safety circuits
- Familiarity with electrical schematics
- PLC programming or ladder logic knowledge is a plus, but not required
- Completion of a 2-year technical diploma or associate degree in electrical technology or related field
- Hourly Pay: $28–$31/hr, based on experience
- First Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- All tools and equipment provided
- Low-frequency travel only
