Wayne’s Trucking Inc. is looking for a self-motivated and knowledgeable mechanic to work in our shop based in Watford City, North Dakota.

The successful candidate will work with all drivers and dispatchers to ensure a vehicle is safe and efficient to operate. Duties may include the following:

Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer a solution

Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts

Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts

Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown

Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance

Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, and brake checks

Maintain records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles

Skills and Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system, and mechanisms of a diesel engine

In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms

Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment

Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools

Excellent problem-solving skills

Keen attention to detail

Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics

A valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)

Good interpersonal skills

Effective collaboration and communication skills

Pay is dependent on experience and will be discussed prior to hire. After a 60-day probation period the employee is eligible for the following benefits: full health coverage, 25% coverage on dental and vision plans, voluntary life insurance, short and long term disability. After a full year of work the employee will receive two weeks paid vacation.

Pay: $27.00 - $45.00 per hour
