Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This role supports mechanical design and engineering activities for environmental, nuclear, and industrial projects. This role focuses on design development, equipment layouts, and engineering support using CAD and analysis software tools, working under the guidance of senior engineers and scientists.
· Support the optioneering and design of mechanical systems, components, and equipment for industrial and nuclear-related applications
· Prepare calculations, design documentation, and technical support materials
· Coordinate with environmental, civil, electrical, and project management teams
· Assist with field support and as-built documentation, as required
· Out-of-state travel may be required 25-35% of the month
· Knowledge or CAD capabilities and ability to discuss design requirements with CAD analysts
· Strong technical documentation, writing and drawing skills
· Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, regulated environment
· Compliance with company and client fitness-for-duty requirements
· Adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
· Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams to efficiently manage documentation, data analysis, collaboration, and communication tasks.
· Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required
· 2–4 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience required
· Experience supporting nuclear, or heavy industrial projects preferred
· Familiarity with design control, configuration management, or QA programs preferred
· Experience with equipment design, piping, or mechanical systems preferred
· Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, PE, or progress toward licensure preferred
