Reporting to the Corporate Director, Total Rewards, Talent Management and DEI, you will be part of the Human Resources Department. You will support and have input into the strategy, design and execution of compensation, benefits and retirement programs aligned with our workforce strategy to attract, retain and motivate our workforce. You will be responsible for the Corporate payroll in Canada and the US and also responsible for leading and mentoring a team of 8 with 3 direct reports. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Oversee all activities related to accurate payroll generation for Toronto and US payrolls;
- Oversee the processing of payroll transactions and activity and ensuring that payroll records are compliant, properly maintained and filed;
- Spearhead process improvement initiatives to streamline, standardize and improve payroll activities;
- Lead the administration, audit, communication, approvals, of annual Equity process for all executives and employees, this includes PSUs, RSUs, Options and ESPP
- Ensure plans are up to date, and compliant with applicable provincial and federal regulations
- Manage the relationship with Shareworks to ensure employee accounts are accurate and managed effectively;
- Manage vendor relationships ensuring service standards are met and employees receive the greatest benefit of external systems;
- Manage benefits and retirement programs, including executive plans, and ensure programs stay within budget;
- Analyze trends and program effectiveness; provide insights to leadership for decision making;
- Lead Open Enrollment for benefits across Canada, coordinating responsibilities of regional benefits administrators, facilitating open enrollment meetings for employees and ensuring accuracy of information submitted to carrier;
- Negotiate renewals;
- Be proactive and implement strategies based on actual data to manage cost, and continuously improve processes (like disability management);
- Collaborate with other stakeholders on a wellness strategy based on data available;
- Lead the annual audit and financial statement preparation related to existing pension plans;
- Ensure timely filing of all plan compliance documents and maintain up-to-date records; as well as ensure employee plan communications meet regulatory requirements;
- Support the Pension Committee and related committee decisions;
- Oversee the delivery and continuous improvement of annual compensation cycles including annual bonus, salary increase, LTI, etc;
- Communicate and manage change efforts to ensure clear understanding and consistent adoption of compensation programs across the business;
- Ensure analytics of market trends, benchmarking data and internal data to ensure competitiveness and optimization of total rewards programs;
- Plan and delegate tasks for and to team members according to the nature of the work and respective workloads;
- Manage budgets and external vendor agreements;
- Update policies or implement as required;
- Oversee expatriate agreements and process;
- Support various HR projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certification is considered an asset);
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience in compensation / total rewards, benefits and pension administration; - 10+ years of experience in HR leadership roles;- Thorough understanding of employment legislation including payroll, pension and benefits;
- Problem analysis and solving, and process improvement skills;
- Experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization;
- Mining experience is considered an asset;
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with advanced Excel as a must;
- Proven track record of leading compensation planning cycles, benefits and pension programs.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from our Corporate Office in Toronto, ON. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
