The Corporate Security Manager will lead Maverick Power’s physical security and emergency preparedness program across all company facilities. This is a hands-on, tactical role responsible for protecting employees, visitors, and assets while strengthening resilience against threats such as unauthorized access, workplace violence, theft, and emergency events (including active shooter and natural disasters).
This position will design and implement facility security programs, perform threat and vulnerability assessments, manage access control and CCTV systems, coordinate incident response, and maintain strong relationships with local authorities. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment, willing to roll up their sleeves and directly manage security tasks while also contributing to strategic improvements.
- Conduct facility security assessments, threat/vulnerability analyses, and periodic audits.
- Oversee physical access control systems, including badge issuance, visitor management, and contractor access.
- Coordinate installation, upgrades, and monitoring of CCTV/video surveillance systems.
- Develop and maintain incident reporting, investigation, and tracking processes.
- Lead or support investigations into facility security breaches, threats, or incidents.
- Create and deliver emergency preparedness programs (e.g., active shooter, evacuation, severe weather).
- Organize drills and tabletop exercises with employees and leadership teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local police, fire, and emergency management officials.
- Develop and deliver employee training on workplace security awareness, emergency response, and access control policies.
- Partner closely with HSE, Facilities, and Operations teams to ensure security controls align with company priorities.
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency
- Management, or related field (recommended).
- • Equivalent military or law enforcement experience may be considered.
- Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in physical security, facility security management, law enforcement, or military service with direct exposure to security operations.
- Hands-on experience implementing or managing access control, CCTV, and emergency preparedness programs.
- Experience working in manufacturing, critical infrastructure, or multi-site corporate environments (preferred).
- Prior experience building a corporate security program from the ground up (preferred).
- Certifications
- ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP), ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP), or Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) (recommended).
- Other security or emergency preparedness certifications considered a plus.
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency with physical access control systems and CCTV/video management platforms.
- Strong ability to perform and document threat assessments and security audits.
- Familiarity with OSHA, DHS, and FEMA emergency planning guidelines (preferred).
- Leadership & Communication Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable engaging with executives, frontline employees, and external partners.
- Ability to train employees on security awareness and emergency response protocols.
- Able to influence and collaborate effectively across departments without direct authority.
- Problem Solving Skills
- Hands-on, self-starter who can balance tactical execution with strategic thinking.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable investigating and resolving security incidents under pressure.
- Analytic Skills
- Ability to analyze security risks, identify trends, and recommend practical, cost- effective solutions.
- Skilled at documenting and reporting on security incidents, assessments, and outcomes for leadership review.
- Travel Requirements
- Based at the Garland, Texas facility with frequent travel to other Texas facilities within 30-minute drive.
- Frequent travel required to Phoenix, Arizona facilities.
- Role requires frequent site walkthroughs, facility inspections, and physical presence at company locations.
- Must be capable of standing, walking, climbing stairs, and responding to facility emergencies as needed.
- Occasional lifting or moving security equipment up to 50 lbs. may be required.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work from heights as needed.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat.
- Must be able to identify the full spectrum of colors.
- Must have vision correctable to 20/20 and perform work while wearing safety glasses
- Work, maybe indoor or outdoor, climates may vary by location and season.
- Hot, cold, humid, wet conditions are possible at times.
- May encounter loud noises, flashing lights, strong smells, insects, and dust.
- Extended periods of time on feet and walking on concreate floors, standing on hard surfaces or irregular terrain, walking on level surfaces or irregular terrain, climbing ladders and steps, bending, sitting, twisting, or pushing may be required at times.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to travel to work or other facilities to support safety.
Work Environment:
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
