POSITION OVERVIEW
The Corporate Manager, Safety Compliance & Training plays a key leadership role in ensuring the effective implementation and oversight of the organization's health, safety, and environmental compliance initiatives, training programs, and continuous improvement strategies. This position is responsible for ensuring full compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification requirements, aligning corporate safety and environmental practices with applicable OSHA/MSHA regulations and internal standards, and embedding structured management systems across the company.
The role will be responsible for the deployment of comprehensive safety training and safety leadership development programs, fostering a consistent and proactive safety culture throughout all ASARCO operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Works with all levels of ASARCO corporate and site management to help foster and reinforce the company's commitment to continual improvement.
•Lead corporate initiatives to ensure compliance with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
•Manage the organization's Operations, Integrity and Sustainability Programs (OIS) in compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001.
•Ensure certification compliance through document control, risk identification, operational controls, and continual improvement mechanisms.
•Serve as the key liaison with external certification bodies and coordinate all third-party audits and surveillance visits.
•Stay current with ISO standard revisions and industry best practices and ensure timely updates to corporate procedures and practices.
•Audit, Assessment & Continuous Improvement
•Design, lead, and manage the internal audit program to assess conformity, identify gaps, and verify effectiveness.
•Oversee corrective and preventive action tracking, root cause analysis, and systemic issue resolution.
•Monitor performance metrics and use data-driven analysis to recommend improvements and optimize systems.
•Facilitate management reviews and maintain all records necessary to demonstrate compliance and progress.
•Facilitating incident response and investigation training, root cause analysis, and corrective action communication.
•Partner with EHS, Operations, HR, and Engineering teams to embed ISO requirements into business processes.
•Supports standardization of management system practices across all operational sites while allowing for site-specific nuances.
•Support the development and delivery of training programs to improve awareness and competency in ISO system requirements.
•Standardize and enhance corporate safety policies, procedures, and best practices across all sites.
•Support guidance on OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and state-level regulations.
•Design and deploy company-wide safety leadership training programs
•Facilitate workshops and coaching for leaders at all levels to embed safety accountability and cultural ownership.
•Champion behavior-based safety programs and elevate frontline engagement in hazard recognition and mitigation.
•Partner with Corporate Safety/Medical leadership to align operational and safety strategies with corporate goals.
•Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives and special projects that promote efficiency, performance, and compliance.
•Develop metrics dashboards and KPIs to monitor safety, compliance, and operational progress.
•Implement standardized procedures, encourage interdepartmental collaboration, and promote knowledge sharing to ensure the best use of resources.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Advanced knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and ISO regulations.
•Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
•Skilled in facilitating cross-departmental alignment and project execution.
•Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and data-driven reporting tools.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor's degree in safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
•5 years of experience in occupational health and safety, with a strong emphasis on corporate or multi-site safety training and program development.
•ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
•Experience in the mining or heavy industrial sector is strongly preferred.
•Background in safety culture initiatives and behavior-based safety (BBS) program facilitation preferred
•Demonstrated experience leading strategic projects and managing high-level change initiatives.
•Experience in delivering and facilitating safety leadership training across all organizational levels, including executive leadership, frontline supervisors, and field personnel.
•Experience aligning safety training programs with regulatory requirements including OSHA, MSHA, and ISO 45001 and 14001, and incorporating those requirements into structured learning programs.
•Experience supporting incident response and investigation training, root cause analysis, and corrective action communication.
ADDITONAL REQUIREMENTS
•Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining alignment with corporate strategy.

•Travel up to 50% to support multi-site operations.
