Position Summary
The Coordinator – Pellet Plant Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance activities within the pellet plant to ensure maximum equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and safety. This role will lead and coordinate the maintenance team, including planning, scheduling, execution, and continuous improvement of maintenance tasks. The Coordinator will work closely with the operations, engineering, and health & safety teams to support plant performance and meet production targets.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager – Pellet Plant, the Coordinator – Pellet Plant Maintenance will be responsible for the following:
Pre Commissioning:
- Assist with management of contractors during pellet plant construction, ensuring work is executed safely, on time, and according to project specifications
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance personnel in daily preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks within the pellet plant
- Ensure timely execution of maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity
- Develop and manage budgets for areas of responsibility
- Monitor equipment performance and reliability; initiate actions for repairs, replacements, or improvements as required
- Collaborate with the operations team to align maintenance priorities with production demands
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures and best practices in line with company policies and safety standards
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts inventory
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for equipment failures and breakdowns
- Liaise with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance work, inspections, and audits
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and occupational health and safety requirements
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and proactive maintenance among team members- 5+ years of relevant maintenance experience in heavy industry (pellet plant experience preferred)
- Proven experience leading maintenance teams and managing work orders and schedules
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively train and mentor employees
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field preferred
- Ability to work in both mining and plant environments, including exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions
- Capability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, inspecting equipment, and navigating uneven terrain
- $115,000 - $135,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications

- Paid Time Off (PTO):
- 0-5 Years: 120 hours per year.
- 5-10 Years: 160 hours per year
- 10+ Years: 200 hours per year- Plus 9 paid holiday and 2 floating holidays
