Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Underground Training Mine Trainer/Assessor at our Carlin operation for our NGM Training Mine program. The Underground Training Mine Trainer/Assessor is responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs that ensure all employees possess the knowledge, skills, and qualifications necessary to perform their roles safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This position enhances workforce capability and operational safety through effective instruction, competency-based assessments, and collaboration with internal stakeholders. The Trainer plays a key role in fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement across NGM mine sites.

Responsibilities:
•Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for competency.
•Facilitate classroom, field-based, and simulator training on equipment, tasks, and procedures
•Maintain site compliance to ensure that employees have the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitude to perform their assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner.
•Conduct Verification of Competency and Planned Task Observations.
•Create and maintain accurate training records in accordance with MSHA regulations and NGM standards.
•Conduct task observations in collaboration with the operating departments.
•Facilitate task training in classroom and field environment settings.
•Ability to adjust training techniques based on learning style types to optimize trainee’s learning experience and information retention.
•Excellent and demonstrated personal commitment to health, safety, and training.
•Ability to create training courses based on site needs.
•Develop teaching outlines and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops.
•Assist in the standardization and review of divisional procedures, guidelines, and observation templates.
•Assist and verify training standardization within respective division while collaborating with other divisional representatives.
•Conduct evaluations of fellow trainers to support growth and development.
•Audit and review training courses, materials, and programs for continuous improvement.
•Assist in the implementation of a Competency-Based Training (CBT) program that ensures information is delivered in a manner that employees will retain.
•Assist in the tracking of task training, task observations and assessments.
•Maintain document control and management.
•Maintain training records with associated supporting documentation in compliance with NGM Learning Management System (LMS).
•Facilitate new miner, experienced miner, hazard, site, and task specific training courses.
•Conduct physical Truck Training and ability to operate the simulator.
•Participate with alignment of site initiatives or mandates including SOPs and Training Manuals.
•Conduct interactions with NGM personnel and assist in line-out meetings.
•Learn what is needed as a fill in for the Senior Trainer and meet those responsibilities.
•Mentor Crew and Site Trainers as needed on Competency Based Training.
•Ensure safe and efficient operations through coaching and compliance to the company’s Integrated Management System and local regulations.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Four (4) years of heavy equipment operation in mining industry or similar heavy industry experience required
•One (1) year of training experience required
•Proven experience in working with peer groups and focus teams required
•Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines required
•Excellent leadership, influencing skills and promoting safety by leading by example required
•Proven safe work record required
•Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook preferred
•Demonstrates ability to analyze and confidently present data in a manner to promote
•ideas and opportunities to lead improvement preferred
•Knowledge and experience in mining, maintenance environments, construction or heavy equipment industry required
•Excellent communication and organizational skills required
•Effective time management to organize and prioritize a heavy workload in a fast-paced, demanding environment required
•Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy required
•Willingness to cross-train in other functions within Safety, Health and Training team required
•Capability to multi-task, self-manage and self-motivate required
•Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Visio) required
•Demonstrate and maintain good attendance and performance records required
•Demonstrated ability to perform all essential function of this role required
