Overview:

Storagenergy is seeking a Battery Scientist to join our growing team. Storagenergy is a dynamic and collaborative environment, working to develop and commercialize next-generation technologies for electrochemical energy storage and power generation. We are currently seeking a self-driven leader who can contribute to battery R&D projects, lead grant writing activities, and IP generation. Applicants should thrive in a fast-paced environment and exhibit a passion for maturing technologies from fundamental science towards commercial products.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the efforts on battery technology development through R&D innovation. Focus areas including: high energy density batteries, high power batteries, long cycle life batteries, battery materials.

- Effectively document and communicate project progress and technical challenges to teams with diverse technical backgrounds

- Procure new/continued funding for research activities by reviewing grant opportunities, proposing new ideas for next-generation battery technologies, and leveraging your network to put together competitive collaborative project teams

- Work with the R&D team to identify key strategic directions for the company.

Qualifications:

- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, or related fields.

- U.S. person required (permanent resident or U.S. citizen)

- At least 5 years of experience in the battery industry.

- Experience with funding applications is required.

- Strong fundamental and applied knowledge and understanding of batteries, including operation principles, production methods, performance, and degradation pathways

- Demonstrated capability of designing experiments to enable clear results that drive decisions in an industrial R&D environment

- Experience related to other electrochemical devices is a plus

- Experience with patent preparation is strongly desired

- Experience with project management is preferred
