Job Summary: The Assistant Supervisor of the Steel Yard will work with the Steel Yard Supervisor and Yard Manager to meet yard and company goals with a safe and profitable yard.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Safety - Ensures that each member of the steelyard works in a safe and productive manner and follows all safety policies and procedures.

- Quality- Support a team that inspects and maintains quality levels of all our products produced by the steelyard.

- Maintenance/Equipment- Inspection and repairs are required of all mobile equipment as well as that of the machines/shears/car processing equipment throughout the yard. Daily walkthrough inspections will be required as well as an immediate response to mechanical issues and downtime during production.

- Parts Inventory- Responsible to help keep steelyard, tools, and supplies organized.

- Delegate and assist employees in efficiently engaging in daily startup procedures as well as the end-of-the-day shutdown cleanup.

Skills:

- This position requires the ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.

- This position requires the ability of basic hand tool usage, basic mechanical ability, some equipment operation, supervisor or lead experience, problem solving, good hand writing and written communication.

- Microsoft office

- Heavy Equipment Operator strongly preferred

Experience:

- 1-2 years of related experience

- Basic Microsoft Office

- Forklift Certified preferred

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
