The Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Cost Controller supports Project Management teams by assisting with cost tracking, quantity measurement, and reporting across multiple large-scale construction projects in the United States. This role focuses on project cost support, progress measurement, and data accuracy while developing deeper expertise in cost control and project financial management.
- - Assist in monitoring and tracking total project costs against approved budgets
- Support the establishment and maintenance of quantity tracking and installed progress measurement (rules of credit, installed quantities, percent complete)
- Assist with change management documentation, including tracking and updating approved changes within project cost systems
- Support project scheduling and progress monitoring activities
- Participate in project meetings with Project Management teams and, as required, external stakeholders
- Prepare cost control reports and progress updates for monthly management review
- Verify reported quantities installed to support client invoicing and internal cost validation
- Provide cost control and planning support to Project Management and internal leadership as requested
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting aligned with project controls standards
- - 2–3 years of relevant experience in project cost control, quantity surveying, or construction cost management
- Working knowledge of quantity measurement and progress tracking methodologies
- Ability to read and interpret pricing documents related to installed quantities
- Strong Excel skills; experience working with cost reports and field reporting systems
- Exposure to large-scale construction or industrial project environments
- Foundational understanding of project cost planning, scheduling, and reporting
- Comfortable working on-site and interfacing with field leadership
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced project environment
