Hathaway LLC is a privately owned independent oil and gas company headquartered in Bakersfield, California. Hathaway operates in 9 oil and gas fields located primarily in Eastern Kern County. We run a budgeted business and are constantly focused on process improvement. Disciplined financial and operational practices have enabled the company to maintain low operational costs. Hathaway LLC also operates for multiple oil and gas companies many of which we are partners in.
Under the direct supervision of the Controller, the Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting the Controller with essential analytical accounting functions. This position will have an active role in the monthly reporting and analysis, annual budgeting, revenue posting and projections.
Specific duties include, but may not be limited to:
· Support budget process, forecasting and monthly close processes.
· Prepare analysis and reconciliation of GL accounts.
· Maintain and manage accurate end-to-end oil and gas production accounting, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and timely revenue allocation.
· Works closely with the Operations Department to compile and validate monthly cost estimates.
· Streamline processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
· Assist with writing and maintaining policy/procedures for accounting department.
· Performs all other duties assigned by Management.
· Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field required.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel, including a full understanding of pivot tables.
· Proven knowledge in planning, economic concepts and budget management methodologies.
· Ability to meet deadlines and advance multiple projects concurrently.
· Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority-setting skills.
