Provides administrative support to the Power Resources Department, ensuring the smooth coordination of programs and services related to distributed energy resources, renewable energy, and member engagement. Serves as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and supports cross-departmental administrative needs as required.

Essential Functions
- Performs administrative duties and provides administrative support for the Power Resources Department to include, but not limited to:
- Accurately composes letters, reports, documents, and meeting minutes and performs other word processing functions as directed
- Initial contact for member inquiries regarding demand response units, distributed energy resources (DER), community solar, and net metering programs. Processes applications, vendor invoices, and answers program questions
- Compiles reports/tracking files as necessary for DER, community solar, and net metering program participation
- Performs basic administrative functions related to distributed generation, the Landfill Gas To Energy facility, or Power Purchase Agreements
- Assists with development and coordination of program marketing materials both in print and in electronic format. Assists in developing and maintaining website information
- Assists in developing and maintaining paper and electronic forms for demand response, community solar, net metering, and other member engagement programs
- Assists members in the resolution of high bill inquiries, electrical demand related questions, and coaches on the use of SmartHub and other technologies adopted by FEC relative to member usage
- Provide backup support for distributed energy resources workgroup as needed on DER programs including member inquiries on sizing for generators, batteries, and generation systems.
- Maintains records and billing of the renewable energy purchase program
- Provides administrative support for FEC grants
- Provides back up for other Power Resources staff when needed, or when short-handed, and assists with the work to be done or with addressing questions, problems, etc.
- Maintains member power resources data and records including net metering applications, DER program participation, and community solar records
- Assist with contract management as outlined in FEC admin policies
- As requested, assists with tasks in support of Power Resources monthly billing and related tasks
- Performs other departmental duties assigned or needed, including, but not limited to, acting as receptionist, receiving incoming telephone calls, responding to or coordinating email or mail inquiries, meeting the general public, providing general information to members, managing workgroup calendars, and/or referring questions to the appropriate employee
- When performing all responsibilities, is efficient, timely, accurate, and confidential. Constantly reviews work assigned to establish proper priority, ensure accuracy and professionalism, and to meet the individual deadlines of each task/project. Requests guidance from supervisor, when needed, on the prioritization of projects/work
- Assist members/vendors/employees and the general public in a courteous and professional manner ensuring their continued satisfaction with FEC. Work in harmony and shows respect to all fellow employees in order to promote an effective and pleasant working environment
- Maintain ongoing communication with manager regarding situations requiring immediate attention, problems/concerns, questions, etc
- In pursuit of zero workplace incidents, promotes and maintains a positive safety culture while adhering to all applicable policies outlined in the Safety Manual. Reports all incidents and potential safety hazards in a timely manner to supervisor or Safety Coordinator
- Become familiar with and keep current with FEC objectives and applicable policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management applying the same skill and enthusiasm as with regularly assigned responsibilities
Minimum Position Qualifications
Education:High School Diploma or equivalent.
Job Related Experience:
1 to 4 years in administrative support or similar position.
Supervision:
No Experience Supervising Required.
Computer Skills:
Proficient on computer, including Microsoft Office 365.
Certificates & Licenses:
None required.
Other Qualifications:
- Valid Montana Driver’s License and be insurable to drive FEC vehicles
- Present a professional appearance at all times

- Able to work 40 hours per week with additional time as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Will be working mostly indoors but will occasionally be required to participate in activities outdoors in all types of weather and terrain, including gaining access to and examining attics, crawlspaces, and new construction sites, as needed.
