Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant / Bookkeeper with a strong accounting foundation and the ability to manage daily financial operations with accuracy and discretion. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accounts payable, payroll and cash management activities. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data and contribute to the ongoing success of our company.

Responsibilities

- Maintain and update financial records in accordance with GAAP

- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy

- Manage cash management activities, including monitoring cash flow

- Oversee accounts payable processes efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate payments

- Process and manage payroll processing and reporting in compliance with federal, state and local requirements

- Administer and reconcile 401(k) contributions and reporting

- Conduct bank reconciliations and account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly

- Assist with month-end and year-end close

- Support audits and financial reporting as needed

Skills

- Strong understanding of GAAP

- Proven experience with journal entries, and account reconciliation procedures

- Hands-on experience with payroll processing and reporting

- Experience with cash management and accounts payable

- Knowledge of bank reconciliation, account analysis and general ledger reconciliation

- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills in bookkeeping practices

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

- Experience will oil and gas accounting preferred

- Knowledge of Joint Interest Billing (JIB) preferred
