The Supervisor Production position is a rotating shift role accountable for supervising production crew employees. Key responsibilities of the Production Supervisor will include (but not limited to): oversight of crew progression / training, active communication with plant on coal qualities/coal demands, dragline progression follow through, cast / dozing projects. This role requires a high level of energy and safety leadership. Communication and collaboration between the two Production Supervisors is critical in this role. Areas of responsibility are split up, but each Supervisor must be aware of the other's areas to ensure priorities and goals are met and resources are utilized efficiently.
Summary Of Position
Must take a personal and active approach to health, safety and environment and understand and follow all state, federal and company health, safety and environmental requirements applicable to the work area and tasks assigned.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Accountable for ensuring plans are met in the most cost effective and productive manner with an emphasis on crew training, coal production/quality, dragline efficiencies, and dozing practices.
- Communicate closely with the plant on coal qualities and shipments.
- Coordinate work processes with other departments.
- Responsible for implementing and executing short term / long term plans and schedules.
- Responsible for appraisal, training and development of personnel.
- Facilitate and leads team in continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure work areas and employee activities comply with all Company and regulatory safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain an open dialogue and two-way communication throughout the organization.
- Provide clear performance standards and expectations holding team members accountable for results using an energetic, positive attitude to influence others.
- Personally demonstrates desired values, behaviors and work practices for the team.

Knowledge and Relevant Experience
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and/or 6-8 years of mining, or any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge to successfully perform the job.
- Five years leadership experience in mining.
- Wyoming Surface Coal Foreman certification or ability to get temporary permit and pass next test.
- Valid driver's license.
- Familiar with computerized business systems (Kronos, Cat Minestar,)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, both written and oral.
- Ability to work in a team environment is essential to the success of this position.
- Demonstrated initiative and can be depended on to complete tasks.
- Highly flexible, able to produce high quality results in changing circumstances.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to continuously sit with frequent forward bending and rotation. The employee must frequently lift, carry and/or move up to 15 pounds; rarely to horizontally lift up to 34 pounds; and rarely lift, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds or swing up to 12 pounds. The employee is required to rarely push or pull up to 100 pounds of force. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms; occasionally use a right hand gr p up to 30 pounds of force; and rarely use hand at an elevated level. The employee is required continuously stand with forward bending and frequently rotating; kneel; and frequently to walk; climb stairs; crouch; squat repetitively; and occasionally crawl. Rarely the employee is required to squat repetitively or reach up to 74". Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Working Environment: Works in office environment and site environment. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Working outdoors in all weather conditions; working in plant environment; working in shop environment; and working in the cab of equipment or vehicle.
