- Operations
- Maintain a friendly and courteous relationship with members.
- Keep up to date on principles of first aid and resuscitation.
- Attend regularly scheduled safety meetings and any other special training sessions offered by PRECorp.
- Keep up to date on all policies and procedures relating to service.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of RUS specifications and National Electric Safety Code.
- Know all Cooperative safety rules, policies and procedures. Report all infractions or hazards to the Foremen.
- Perform work on energized lines and equipment as necessary.
- Take charge of crew in absence of crew foreman or as directed. Maintain knowledge of cooperative lines, substations and the territory they serve.
- Perform work on transformers, substations, OCRs, regulators, meters, and other line equipment as necessary or directed.
- Assist apprentice linemen classified as first year through fourth year and groundsman in relation to continuing training and safety.
- Maintain a cooperative attitude and assist fellow employees in any work capable of doing or called on to perform which tends to expedite the business of the cooperative or that particular job to which assigned, such as:
- Read meters
- Handle materials
- Assist with connects and disconnects
- Operate equipment
- Take stand-by rotation as assigned and take trouble calls when requested.
- Knowledge of RUS specifications or other electrical industry specifications and work rules as they relate to construction and to line personnel and public safety.
- Ability to operate digger derricks, bucket trucks, backhoes, trenchers and other power line construction equipment.
- Effective interpersonal skills with proven ability to be a member of a line crew.
- Must have and maintain a valid Wyoming CDL with air brakes and combination endorsement.
- Equivalent of a High School Diploma and successful completion of an approved Power Lineman Apprenticeship training program.
- Minimum of four years of work experience required as an apprentice lineman within an RUS, Municipal or Investor Owned Utility operation.
- Ability to exert up to seventy five (75) pounds on a regular basis, as well as performing such activities as fingering, grasping, lifting, reaching, crouching, and repetitive tasks.
- Extensive climbing of poles, ladders, structures, and equipment required. Strength and ability required to perform strenuous activities while standing on poles and within buckets. Excellent eye-hand coordination and balancing skills required. C. Ability to engage in continuous field work requiring physical stamina to endure harsh climates and rugged terrain in Northeastern Wyoming.
