Summary Of Position
This position is responsible for a variety of accounting responsibilities related to the company's Site Finance Department. This position will also support the corporate finance group.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepare and post transactions to the general ledger, perform account analysis, and conduct account reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain fixed asset records including depreciation, additions, disposals, transfers, capitalized interest, and capital leasing.
- Timely recognition of asset transactions is required.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of work product, proper accounting treatment of transactions, and adherence to best-practice documentation and review standards.
- Perform control activities to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley Act and maintain appropriate control documentation.
- Prepare workpapers that are organized, concise, cross-referenced, and supported by conclusions.
- Assist mine site personnel with costing, planning and forecasting including but not limited to, preparation of ad hoc reporting and continual improvement.
- Ability to use reference materials in researching accounting issues.
- Desire and aptitude to learn and support the company's software applications, including Ellipse and OneStream.
Knowledge and Relevant Experience
- BS/BA degree in business, finance or accounting.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Minimum of one year of work experience in financial reporting, public accounting, or industry accounting preferred.
- CPA or relevant masters preferred.
