What is a Service Manager?
Coordinate sales, service, & shop efforts to satisfy customer requirements, by requisitioning equipment, preparing sales orders, scheduling with the Remanufacturing Manager for repairs of both Downing and customer owned equipment as well as the assembly and testing of equipment.

- Requisition equipment, schedule with the remanufacturing manager for repairs of both Downing and customer owned equipment
- Service equipment
- Prepare sales orders and verify equipment before it ships to the customer
- Direct all customer and installation operations, by coordinating activities of service technicians, to meet customer requirements
- Maintain well file records on present, past, and future wells
- Provide up-to-date information to all on call personnel
- Attend and participate in the production and special project meetings to provide up-to-date information concerning customer activity, equipment needs, and developing trends
- Assist the safety manager by ensuring that all service technicians maintain and observe DWE Safety Policies while performing their required duties both in the shop and on well sites
- Train and inform employees of new work methods or procedures, change in safety regulations, and work policies
- Monitor assigned personnel to ensure they follow company and department policies and enforce safety regulations also adhere to proper codes and standards
- Travel as needed (must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the company driver requirement to operate a company vehicle while traveling)
- Perform other duties as assigned- 2+ years in a managerial position
- Wellhead experience
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and procedures
- Write routine reports and correspondence
- Speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of organization
- Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, fractions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Use Microsoft Office and other Windows based software
- Maintain equipment properly
- Knowledge of machines and tools; able to determine the correct equipment and tools needed to do a job correctly
- Working knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the machining or repair of API 6A components
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear
- Occasionally use hands to manipulate with fingers, handle, or feel, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms
- Possess the ability to operate, handle, and lift shop equipment and tools
- Lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds (SEF Energy employees shall not manually lift an item weighing more than 50 lbs., they shall utilize mechanical assistance devices. If mechanical assistance devices are not available, utilize a team lift.)
- Occasionally work in wet, humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, cold and hot (non-weather)
- Ability to see at a close distance (clear vision at 20 inches or less) and at a long distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), identify and distinguish colors, observe an area that can be seen up and down or left and right with eyes are fixed on any given point, judge distances and spatial relationships, three-dimensional vision, adjust focus (adjust the eye to bring and object into sharp focus)
- Exposure to moderate to loud noises
- Bachelor’s Degree
