What is a Regional Manager? The Regional Manager at Downing is responsible for implementing the company’s strategic business plan for their respective region to ensure that operations for the regions are aligned to meet revenue, market share and other company goals.
- Lead, direct and oversee all field ops in the region
- Select, manage, and develop subordinate employees and other regional staff
- Accurately forecast 120 day equipment demand to ensure efficient use of resources and employees
- Execute internal and external customer orders in accordance with their requirements
- Direct annual budgeting and planning process for the regions annual budget
- Monitors and manages regions P&L to meet stated goals
- Maintains time, payroll, and material records and submits reports as required
- Trains and informs employees of new work methods or procedures, changes in safety regulations, and work policies
- Ensure availability of trained, competent, and properly equipped personnel throughout their assigned region
- Observe, practice, and enforce company polices, and safety & HR procedures and ensure all areas are current to facility requirements
- Ensure accurate invoicing of goods and services provided by regional branches
- Observe and enforce best practice inventory management techniques
- Monitor market conditions, competition, requirements, and activities for the assigned region
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office suite
- Professional verbal and written skills, basic math skills
- Collaborate with other departments and customers to solve business challenges and opportunities
- Understand product lines and services offered by the company as well as customer requirements
- Operate, handle, and lift shop equipment and tools
- Must have knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the machining, welding, and assembly of API 6A valves and components
- Knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications of components, assemblies, finished products for conformance of all requirements
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and minimal supervision
- Knowledge of machines and tools; determine the correct equipment and tools need to do a job correctly
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time throughout the assigned region
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Employee must possess the ability to operate, handle, and lift shop equipment and tools
- Ability to lift materials and products up to 30 pounds
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or equivalent 5+ years job related experience
