Hiring Salary Range: $114,900 - $172,400 Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level.
This position is accountable for assisting the Director of Site Operations in overall profitable management of plant operations, safety, compliance, and maintenance of power generation facilities. Working with Plant Management teams, this position contributes to the development and implementation of operational and organizational strategies, policies and practices as it relates to the plant operations and is expected to play a significant role in long term planning including initiatives geared toward operational excellence.
The Regional Manager role is responsible for leading complex projects with significant scope, budget, and organizational impact. These projects may include capital construction projects, special plant O&M, financial initiatives, strategic planning efforts, or conceptual studies. This role requires project management expertise, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to manage competing priorities. The Regional Manager ensures alignment with organizational strategies and provides high-quality updates to senior leadership.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead the development of project scope, objectives, resource allocation, schedules, and budgets. Document and implement project changes and communication plans to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Coordinate and support cross-functional teams to meet project objectives, including planning and participating in team meetings.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to define project scopes, schedules, and budgets, including labor, equipment, and other costs. Resolve conflicts, build consensus across diverse teams, and refine project plans to drive success.
Oversee vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with obligations. Lead the selection process for consultants, contractors, and suppliers. Collaborate with Supply Chain in preparing RFPs and contract documents.
Contribute to the refinement of templates, and processes. Provide detailed project updates, including performance metrics, risk assessments, and budget progress, to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Develop contingency plans and escalate unresolved issues to leadership as necessary.
Utilize the record-of-change process to maintain accurate project documentation, including notes, emails, drawings, and specifications. Assist in organizing and managing project records, such as drawings and photos.
Ensure all project activities adhere to Dairyland’s safety policies and relevant industry regulations. Promote a culture of safety within all project teams and actively participate in safety training and initiatives.
Provide temporary management support to ensure smooth leadership transitions at the facility level when needed.
Drive results for the strategic business operations plan by fostering continuous improvement in areas such as safety, compliance, cost control, engineering efficiency, waste reduction, and quality.
Collaborate with the Site Operations Director to motivate plant teams to achieve Dairyland’s performance targets (safety, compliance, financial, personnel development, etc.).
Assist the Site Operations Director in enhancing communication and collaboration between business partners (Safety, Environmental, PMO, HR, IT, and Finance) to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals and drive strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing operations and achieving business improvements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience
: Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, finance, engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Prior power plant management experience preferred.
Skills:
- Project management expertise, including scope, budget, and resource management.
- Annual/capital expenditure budget development, along with monthly forecasting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities with complex projects.
- Experience developing individuals and leading teams.
- Knowledgeable of emerging trends in the industry and maintains trend awareness within plants.
- Knowledge of hazards involved and the safety precautions to be practiced in the operation and maintenance of power plant equipment and machinery. Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety practices and procedures.
- Working knowledge of compliance regulations, policies, standards, and procedures of all ISOs and generation markets including but not limited to NERC Reliability Standards, Environmental Compliance and Safety programs.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively work with individuals at all levels, both internal and external.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams build positive relationships with stakeholders and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft SharePoint, OnePlan, and D365.
- Advanced technical expertise and business acumen, with the ability to align technical solutions with strategic organizational objectives and provide guidance to others.
- Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges, drive decision-making, and lead teams through ambiguity and change effectively.
- Extensive experience with organizational change management principles.
Licenses and Certifications:
PMP certification highly preferred.
