Drive strategic infrastructure coordination and cost recovery at Alliant Energy.
As a Permitting and Road Use Specialist II, you will be responsible for the coordination of more complex company highway activities with state, county and town departments while maximizing Alliant Energy’s reimbursement for highway reallocations and minimizing cost. This position will assist in the development, coordination and negotiations of the Alliant Energy permit application processes with local, state and federal regulatory agencies regarding land use permits, and ensure timely revenue collection and payment for all land use agreements.
- Leads investigations into the impact of road moves on Alliant Energy’s electric and gas facilities.
- Coordinates with internal personnel to prepare intensive cost estimates for the proper relocation of Alliant Energy facilities.
- Assists, organizes and monitors the road move process for Alliant Energy including records, billing and contracts.
- Negotiates, prepares and executes highly complex road relocation agreements with regulatory agencies.
- Collaborates with legal and regulatory agencies to ensure an effective notification and land use permitting process.
- Negotiates cost effective and timely contracts with governmental agencies and businesses to ensure accurate reimbursement payments for compensable facilities.
- Establishes effective relationships with regulatory agency staff and business representatives from the DOT, FHWA-Federal Highway Association, Counties and engineering firms.
- Participates in the development and management of the budget for permitting and road use.
- Consults with business unit representatives to identify, recommend and implement process improvement opportunities.
- Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- 3 years of utility or highway related experience.
- Preferred professional experience in complex land use permitting and highway activities associated with utility facilities.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.

This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
