This key role is responsible for CMM programming and inspection at our Tool & Die facility in Germantown.
· Ability to set-up, operate and program a DCC coordinate measuring machine utilizing CAD modeling and advanced software (currently Zeiss calypso 2025 and Zeiss gear-pro 2025).
·Requires knowledge of geometric tolerances, tool manufacturing processes, and ability to use and repair variety of measuring instruments and devices.
· Working knowledge of inspection equipment and gauges.
· Perform mathematical calculations in geometry and trigonometry.
Create or revise computer programs for D.C.C. coordinate measuring machine utilizing CAD modeling and advanced software (currently Zeiss calypso 2025 and Zeiss gear-pro 2025).
· Analyze and interpret customer and GKN prints for inspection purposes.
· Work with toolmakers to correct non-conformance conditions.
· Attend training classes, special technical courses, trade shows, and exhibits to keep abreast of most advanced technical procedures and equipment used in Quality Assurance activities.
· Assist other facilities with CMM programming and inspections.
· Previous CMM experience in a manufacturing or tooling environment preferred.
·Ability to operate a CMM; experience in programming Zeiss calypso 2025 and Zeiss gear-pro 2025 essential.
·Knowledge of GD&T, tool manufacturing processes, and ability to use and adjust variety of technical instruments and devices.
·Ability to read drawings and prints, use computers, use a variety of measuring equipment
· Knowledge of MS Office and related business management software programs.
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
