: Up to $52/hr ST (1.5 OT)
Length of Assignment:
One year with extension possible
Work Location
: Located in the Richmond, VA area
Schedule
: Hybrid schedule (2 days remote and 3 days in the office)• Review design packages for substation and high voltage generation tie-line projects associated with new solar and BESS generation projects
• Review and provide resolution to third party Owner's Engineer's comments
• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) from substation/generation tie-line contractor • Support projects starting at the design phase and through construction to energization
• Interface with other departments or groups such as Business Development, Project Management, Construction, Supply Chain, Real Estate, and Operations.
• Make occasional day trips to sites in Virginia to help resolve construction related engineering issues
• Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles
• Knowledge of and experience in power system modeling and electrical engineering principles
• Skilled in use of advanced techniques and extension of theories, precepts and practices of substation design (or related sciences and disciplines)
• Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing)
• Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems
• Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices
• Equally effective working independently or in team environment
• Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks
• Strong planning, organizational and project management skills.
• Working knowledge of PJM and NERC policies and procedures
• Experience with ETAP and PSSE is preferred
• An understanding of substation and transmission line engineering is preferred
Virginia or North Carolina Professional Engineer License is preferred but not required.
