Assist the Manager of IT Applications with the analysis, evaluation, development, testing, implementation, improvement, and retirement of computer software applications to meet the needs of the Cooperative. Assist and support the Manager of IT Applications in the supervision of IT Applications team members. Support the analysis of user needs and make recommendations of software applications.
· Supports: Entire IT Applications team and business units of the Cooperative.
· Directs, with support from Manager: Application Coordinator/Specialist(s), Application Coordinator(s), Application Developer(s), Software Engineer(s), and Data Engineer(s)
· Assist with managing a portfolio of applications and the staff supporting applications.
· Mentor and guide application staff, leading teams and overseeing their work and review of programming and business process documentation.
· Assist with project planning, resource allocation, and task management to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, on scope, on quality and benefit.
· Support the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
· Assist in driving innovative and creative solutions to business and technical challenges.
· Assist in driving organizational change and optimization initiatives.
· Maintain current knowledge of standard languages, coding methods, and operation requirements for all of the Cooperative’s information systems.
· Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and contribute to process improvements.
· Interacting with users to gather feedback, troubleshoot issues, and ensure user satisfaction.
· Maintain confidentiality of work at a professional level.
· In alignment with our Cooperative policy, ensure all program sources, equipment, operational programs, documentation, documents, spreadsheets, data files, and all other work, including information contained on his/her personal computer at SVEC “are and remain” the private property of the Cooperative.
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology or related experience and/or training or equivalent.
· Thorough knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies required.
· Experience in planning, executing, and monitoring projects is required.
· Must be able to maintain professionalism and control under all circumstances.
· Has and maintains a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record and is able to operate SVEC vehicles.
· Must become and remain certified in CPR and first aid. Must also be skilled in the use of safety equipment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word.
· Ability to handle the challenge of operating efficiently under a very flexible schedule due to the number of unanticipated and unplanned requests for services from the various individuals, departments, and outside contacts with whom this position is involved.
· Leadership ability and the ability to motivate peers toward goal achievement.
· Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to supervise, coach and direct employees assigned.
· Ability to dissect and resolve complex problems quickly and systematically.

· Possess effective techniques to research and access all sources necessary to fulfill position responsibilities.
· Must have the ability to understand, develop, and implement new computer technologies.
· Must be able to reason analytically and relate theoretical concepts to practical needs.
· Must be willing to attend educational seminars or courses to enhance skills and stay current with technology.
· Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work.
· Participation in SVEC job safety and training programs, relevant workshops, seminars and other SVEC sponsored courses and events.
· Must be able to use office equipment including telephone, computer, and other systems and related software in the performance of position responsibilities.
· Must be able and available, during any and all types of weather conditions, to work weekends, holidays, evenings and other times outside normal duty hours to assist in service restoration and other emergencies that may arise or when the workload demands.
· Must always maintain an operating telephone or personal communication device at his/her place of residence. Ability to contact the telephone or personal communication device must be made available to SVEC for the purpose of contacting the manager to conduct legitimate routine and/or emergency business.
· This position involves primarily inside work. Must be able to lift objects unassisted (up to 30 pounds). Some standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling to a minimal degree.
