We are a consulting firm that collaborates with both public and private industries involved in advanced nuclear technologies. Our clients include private companies and public-sector organizations engaged in cutting-edge nuclear energy technology. Our analysis for these clients requires an in-depth understanding of complex market and policy conditions, as well as a nuanced grasp of public perception surrounding topics like climate change, energy sources, and other important issues.
As a small, nimble, fully-remote team with diverse backgrounds, we take pride in bringing a unique, “outsider” strategic perspective to a very technical and academic industry. Our management philosophy emphasizes personal initiative, adaptability, and a desire to learn and understand complex issues.
ABOUT UTAH & THE OFFICE OF ENERGY DEVELOPMENT
The Utah Office of Energy Development is Utah’s primary resource for advancing energy and mineral development and implementing the state’s energy policy.
In October 2024, Gov. Spencer J. Cox announced Operation Gigawatt. This ambitious initiative will double the state’s electrical-generating capacity over the next 10 years and is a response to increased electrification and the growth of energy-intensive industries. Operation Gigawatt will secure Utah’s traditional role of being a net energy exporter and ensure the state can sustain growth while also protecting the quality of life for its citizens.
The goals of this campaign are to educate the public about the benefits and risks associated with nuclear power and to strengthen public support.
This role will support survey collection for the pilot campaign. The purpose of the pilot campaign is to directly engage residents in three counties–Weber, Tooele, and Millard–to establish a baseline understanding of how nuclear energy is perceived across Utah’s diverse regions. This process will reveal which messages resonate with audiences, where, and why. Data and information gathered will inform the framing of nuclear energy in rural versus urban areas and identify which topics require further engagements. Most importantly, this effort will create a tested messaging foundation to guide the broader statewide narrative. Broadly, you will be asked to:
- Conduct in-person survey responses in collaboration with trusted local organizations to enhance response rates
- Organize survey responses and respondents to support the baseline and post-campaign survey rounds
- Support the team in carrying out a pilot campaign for 30 days
We are looking for temporary canvassers at the beginning and end of the campaign for the baseline and post-campaign survey.
- Experience in canvassing, phone banking, political campaigns, customer service, etc.
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to interact with diverse populations in various community settings
- Adaptable to changing environments, handling rejection, and maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to accurately record survey responses and follow data collection procedures
- Proficiency with tablets and smartphones
- Ability to represent the state and our company in a respectful and approachable manner
- Willingness to collaborate with fellow canvassers and supervisors
- Nuclear industry, education, or professional background
- Live in Weber, Millard, or Tooele counties
