The IoT Engineer is responsible for the reliable interaction between physical manufacturing devices and the digital environment, focusing on stability, security, scalability, and usability. This role is responsible for designing, building and implementing IT systems, network and infrastructure with focus around our manufacturing environment, requiring expertise in electronics, programming, networking, DOD compliance and cybersecurity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, product managers, hardware engineers, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop long term solutions.
- Design, develop, and implement IoT systems and devices, including connecting and configuring hardware components and integrating them with software and networks.
- Develop software and firmware to support devices in the IoT environment.
- Build and maintain IoT architectures to ensure seamless and secure data exchange.
- Develop and deploy cloud systems and applications for data collection, storage, analysis and management.
- Test and validate systems to ensure reliability, stability and security, identifying and eliminating technical problems.
- Conduct research on new technologies, methodologies and solutions for subsequent implementation in projects.
- Provide technical support and develop documentation, including technical specifications and user manuals.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- 3 years of experience in IT operations and/or infrastructure management.
- Experience in designing, developing, and implementing IoT systems and devices.
- Experience with OT systems and IT integration.
- Experience with modern network and communication protocols, IT infrastructure operations, and knowledge of cloud platforms, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies.
- Experience with backup technologies and disaster recovery solutions.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
