Position: Industrial Mechanic – Surface Mining & Crushing Operations
Location: La Sal, Utah (approximately 45 minutes southeast of Moab, UT)
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Shift Supervisor
Job Summary:
Lisbon Valley Mining Company is seeking skilled Industrial Mechanics to support our surface mining and heap leach operations in La Sal, Utah. This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of an 800+ TPH crush/screen plant and a fleet of large mining equipment, including Komatsu PC900 excavators, Caterpillar 777 haul trucks, water trucks, and other heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background in a mining or heavy industrial setting.
Essential Functions:
•Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on large mining equipment and crushing/screening systems.
•Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on mobile and stationary equipment.
•Maintain and repair components of an 800+ TPH crush/screen plant to ensure continuous operation.
•Operate hand and power tools, forklifts, and service trucks as needed.
•Conduct inspections and complete maintenance logs and reports.
•Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the truck shop and field service areas.
•Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.
•Assist with inventory management and parts organization.
•Support other maintenance and operational tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
•Previous experience maintaining large mining equipment
•Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
•Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
•MSHA Surface Metal and Non-Metal Miner Training preferred.
•Must pass a drug screen and background check.
•Ability to lift 50–100 lbs, climb ladders, and work in physically demanding conditions.
•Willingness to work extended hours, holidays, and be on-call as needed.
•Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
