Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and experience in heavy equipment operation, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our shipping and receiving operations within our distribution center.

Responsibilities

- Load and unload trucks, trailers, 18-wheelers, and rail cars (both flat and slanted types).

- Safely move and stack materials including plates, cones, cylinders, tank heads, and supplies.

- Handle plate sizes up to 480 inches in length.

- Operate forklifts, including but not limited to: 400 Taylor, 360 Hyster, and X-400M Toyota models.

- Use overhead cranes to safely move and position heavy materials as required.

- Read and understand material traceability documentation to ensure accuracy.

- Confirm equipment is correctly positioned before starting, shutting down, loading, or unloading operations.

- Follow all company health and safety regulations when operating or maintaining equipment.

- Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and safety inspections on equipment.

- Monitor and ensure the safe distribution and storage of materials.

- Promptly report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the Supervisor.

- Attend required meetings and refresher courses to stay current on equipment operation and safety standards.

- Perform additional duties as assigned to support production and warehouse operations.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse or distribution center.

- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.

- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices in heavy equipment operation.

- Ability to perform order picking tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.

- A valid forklift operator certification is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided for qualified candidates.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
