Position Summary
As an Engineer for the Transmission Asset Management & Engineering Services group at Oncor, you will be responsible for the creation/modification of material specifications and engineering/construction standards, and providing technical support in areas related to asset management and the reliability of the Oncor Transmission system. This position supports technology demonstration projects, provides engineering support to regulatory and legal organizations on an as-needed basis, and participates in industry organizations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.
- Develops, implements and communicates new/updated standards, specifications and guidelines to key stakeholders.
- Leads teams to gather requirements, establish cross-functional processes and ensure proper implementation of various initiatives.
- Researches and evaluates new materials, products and applications.
- Provides administrative and technical support in areas including root cause analysis of equipment failure and reliability reporting.
- Provides support for the Line Clearance Review Program.
- Participates in engineering standard organizations and other industry-specific organizations.
- Provides legal and regulatory support as needed.
- Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.
- Ability to work independently and on a team.
- Must be flexible, have organizational skills, and multi-task skills to handle diverse types of work.
- Must effectively work across disciplines and functions to achieve common goals and company business purposes.
- Capable of working with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and team-building skills for effective relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex subject matter and company issues to vendors and Oncor employees.
- Knowledge in multiple areas related to power industry subject matters preferred.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required.
- Applicants with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering are encouraged to apply.

Staff Engineer
- All of the duties described above except as modified below:
- At least four (4) years of relevant engineering experience is required.
- High level of knowledge in at least one applicable subject matter.
Senior Engineer
- All of the duties described above except as modified below:
- At least six (6) years of relevant engineering experience is required.
- High level of knowledge in multiple applicable subject matters.
- Demonstrates technical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Demonstrates ability to interface with external and internal business partners in a professional manner.
- Demonstrates skills in prioritization, multi-tasking and success in adapting to change.
- Demonstrates growth in knowledge of subject matter covered in the role.
- Willing and able to participate in the training of others.
