Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking a Petrophysicist reporting to the Geoscience Asset Manager in Midland, Texas. This position will be responsible for conducting comprehensive petrophysical evaluations, including well log analysis, core data integration and reservoir characterization. This role requires a strong understanding of petrophysical principles, experience with industry software and the ability to effectively communicate and provide technical expertise to multi-disciplinary teams. Your expertise will guide exploration, development and production activities, ensuring optimal reservoir management.
- Help maintain a clean and efficient log database in both Kingdom and Interactive Petrophysics (IP)
- Develop and maintain petrophysical workflows and best practices.
- Perform detailed well log analysis, including but not limited to, shale volume calculations, porosity and permeability estimation, fluid saturation determination, and rock typing.
- Integrate core data (e.g., routine core analysis, special core analysis) with well log data to develop robust petrophysical models.
- Collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, and other team members to contribute to reservoir characterization and development planning.
- Conduct quality control checks on petrophysical data and interpretations.
- Prepare clear and concise technical reports and presentations summarizing petrophysical findings.
- Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, electrical engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Earth Sciences or related field
- 3-10 years of experience in petrophysics, preferably in Permian Basin working Bone Spring and Wolfcamp Formations
- Strong understanding of petrophysical principles and concepts
- Proficiency in using petrophysical software (e.g., Kingdom and/or Interactive Petrophysics (IP)
- Experience with core data integration and analysis
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Earth Sciences or related field.
- 5-10 years experience in an industry petrophysical job role
