Are you a skilled technician with a passion for precision and design? We are currently seeking a
Mold/Design Technicianto support the creation, development, and maintenance of rubber and plastic molds (injection and compression). If you're detail-oriented, enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this is the opportunity for you.
What You’ll Do
As a
Mold/Design Technician Yourresponsibilities will include:
- Design and update 2D/3D technical drawings for rubber and plastic molds using AutoCAD.
- Support cost estimation and quoting for new mold projects in collaboration with Engineering.
- Create and maintain project schedules for mold builds and machined parts.
- Manage vendor quotations and oversee outsourced mold fabrication.
- Design tooling and fixtures such as trim dies, forming dies, and machine repair parts.
- Troubleshoot and propose solutions for mold-related quality issues and repairs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on mold evaluations, reworks, and Capex projects.
- Communicate with vendors and support production teams during mold testing and first article runs.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to manufacturing, procurement, and production control.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years in a Mold/Design Technician Role
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and working knowledge of AutoLISP
- Strong knowledge of mold design (rubber/plastic, injection/compression)
- Familiarity with machining processes and tooling
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills
- Experience working across multiple teams and vendors
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field
- Experience with mold repair and rework
- Familiarity with ERP systems and project scheduling software
Work Environment
You’ll work in both manufacturing and office environments, using tools and equipment daily. PPE and steel-toed footwear are required.
Expected Hours Of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
