LCRA is looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join a unique environmental laboratory team! This exciting opportunity is suited for those who enjoy performing courier services, preparing and shipping orders for clients, preparing water samples for analysis by completing sample condition checks, sample receipt/login, basic test measurements, sample preservation/spiking, and inventory monitoring. You will work directly with the Client Services team daily, communicate any sample/production issues to senior staff and the supervisor, and at times cross-train and provide support in other areas of the laboratory. You Will Be Trusted To
- Perform courier services for the laboratory picking up or delivering samples to customers.
- Manage the warehouse shipping and receiving supplies for customers and laboratory operations.
- Check sample receipts and logs, sample and inventory checks, and perform basic data entry (transcription).
- Perform one or more of the additional duties: sample disposal, glassware cleaning, and supply receipt.
- Monitor the laboratory sample receiving area for sample drop-off.
- Perform batch or direct data entry into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Provide general lab assistance to laboratory staff.
