The GIS Technician II will use a variety of technical, analytical, and communication skills to independently identify and solve client and corporate data questions and develop solutions for various Corp. needs. The GIS Technician II will identify, implement, create, and maintain maps, GIS layers, electronic data, and geographic computer files by independently interpreting geographic or legal source data using automated GIS tools and perform related work utilizing discretion and independent judgment to determine work necessary.
- This role involves managing spatial data workflows, integrating project updates and producing client-facing deliverables to support ongoing infrastructure and development projects.
- Incorporate project related data change requests into master geospatial datasets and associated databases.
- Maintain and update spatial features such as infrastructure corridors, access routes, and key crossing points.
- Create and modify parcel shapefiles using public records and assessor data, ensuring accurate attribution in geospatial databases.
- Generate client deliverables including maps, exhibits, mapbooks, and KMZ files, tailored to project needs.
- Able to make independent judgments/decisions.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
- 4-year degree in a GIS-related field a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years GIS experience required, preferably in an oil, gas, or energy-related company.
- Excellent computer skills, technology focused.
- Ability to work autonomously and to collaborate fully as a team player.
- Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted).
- Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations and the Company's policies and procedures.
- Position is fully remote.
- Is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Is occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
