STARTING SALARY: $70,100 – $95,774 Salary is commensurate with experience
Reporting directly to the Financial Planning & Analysis Supervisor, this role is pivotal in supporting strategic decision-making through comprehensive financial reporting and analysis. The Financial Analyst collaborates across all levels of management within business units and corporate stakeholders, leveraging advanced financial concepts and techniques to drive outcomes in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting. A successful Financial Analyst will have a strong analytical mind, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex data insights clearly and concisely using visualization tools and reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics/Data Science, Accounting, Economics or Finance related field
- 2 or more years of experience preferred
- Experience in finance, treasury, financial modeling, and/or accounting.
- Experience in data visualization and reporting tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ability to learn complex financial models.
- Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and adaptability in leveraging new technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex data and effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with utility accounting, regulatory principles, and data mining is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to interpret financial statements and conduct trend analysis.
- Ability to effectively manage several tasks at the same time.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with officers, managers, fellow employees, and the general public.
- Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.
- Delivers clear, actionable insights via visualization tools and impactful reporting tailored to various audiences.
- Prepares and presents monthly financial reporting package to management.
- Assists in preparation of and analyzes annual budgets and long-term plans.
- Prepares consolidated forecasts and analyzes trends in revenue, expenses, capital expenditures and other related areas, revises projections and provides explanations as appropriate.
- Conducts complex project and business analysis including ROI, NPV and IRR, making recommendations to management based on results.
- Coordinates with business partners and external consultants in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of forecast computer models, dashboards, and variance reporting.
- Analyze financial data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide actionable insights.
- Prepares financial and business-related analysis and research in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments.
- Works with business users to refine and improve current reporting and analysis, often performing ad hoc reporting to satisfy end-users.
- Works closely with accounting and operational departments to accurately project cash flows and financial performance.
- Leverages the use of predictive analytics, including AI, in forecasting, cost and variance analytics, and scenario planning.
- Provides training to the finance/operational teams as assigned.
- Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations to include employment, safety and environmental standards and regulations.
