Position Summary
Tech II responsible for safe, high quality field work in maintenance—executing work orders, maintaining assets, and delivering responsive customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, hydrants, PRVs, and appurtenances.
- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues and coordinate with electricians/SCADA as needed.
- Perform hydrant flow tests, valve exercising, and air release maintenance.
- Maintain parts/tool inventory and accurate CMMS records.
- Follow LOTO and safety procedures; participate in tailgate meetings.
- Lead small crews/tasks; mentor Tech I/II staff and verify job safety setups.
- Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis; recommend preventive improvements.- 5+ years relevant field experience in Maintenance operations within water/wastewater/public works.
- Strong safety mindset (confined space, trenching/MOT, PPE); clean driving record.
- CMMS/mobile work order proficiency and accurate documentation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical coursework preferred.

- Excellence — maintains accurate, audit ready records; follows SOPs, permits, and regulations.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Field based role with frequent driving, outdoor work in varied weather, and exposure to traffic, confined spaces, biological/chemical hazards, energized equipment, and uneven terrain. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb, kneel, and wear required PPE. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
