Field QA/QC Representative

Purpose
Virtus Renewables is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Field QA/QC Representative to implement and uphold the company’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards across utility-scale solar projects. This role ensures compliance with contract specifications, regulatory codes, and internal operational procedures while reinforcing a consistent approach to quality and safety in field execution.
The ideal candidate will bring a background in electrical construction or inspection, demonstrate proactive field leadership, and thrive in fast-paced environments where attention to detail and accountability are essential. This position is critical in maintaining the high standards of excellence that Virtus delivers across all sites.
QA/QC Oversight & Implementation
•Participate in project planning to support correct installation methods and QA strategy.
•Conduct daily field walk-throughs to verify compliance with contract specifications, drawings, codes, and safety policies.
•Perform inspections on incoming equipment, in-progress work, and final installations.
•Interpret technical specifications and provide clarity to field teams on procedures and QA standards.
•Ensure uniform implementation of QA/QC expectations across crews.
Compliance & Documentation
•Review and maintain all QA/QC records, inspection reports, and compliance logs.
•Document all non-conformances and assist in developing corrective action plans.
•Follow up to ensure timely resolution of quality issues and adherence to project standards.
•Track and enforce subcontractor compliance with quality procedures and client requirements.
•Ensure required documentation is submitted in accordance with project closeout or regulatory requirements.
Training & Continuous Improvement
•Mentor field teams on QA/QC expectations and inspection readiness.
•Conduct training on company-specific policies, including Hot Work, energized testing, and lockout/tagout protocols.
•Identify operational or compliance risks and assist in implementing mitigation plans.
•Recommend process improvements and contribute to project-level QA/QC lessons learned.
Communication & Risk Management
•Communicate quality concerns and deviations to project leadership and advise on stop-work measures where applicable.
•Maintain open communication with superintendents, safety leads, and client representatives regarding field quality performance.
•Support overall project safety, quality, and productivity (SQP) alignment.
Required Skills and Expertise
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of electrical supervision, QA/QC oversight, or field quality control on energy or infrastructure projects.
Technical Knowledge:
•Expertise in construction techniques and equipment.
•Deep understanding of the NEC, OSHA standards, and quality inspection processes.
•Familiarity with commissioning procedures preferred.
Licensure:
•OSHA 30 certification required.
Communication & Organizational Skills:
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proactive, hands-on field presence.
•Strong attention to detail and the ability to track and resolve quality and compliance issues.
Technology:
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and digital inspection/QA tracking platforms.
•Ability to learn and apply new software tools for compliance documentation and reporting.
Education and Certifications
Education: Associate degree or equivalent technical training in electrical systems, QA/QC, or construction management preferred.
Certifications: OSHA 30 required. Additional QA/QC certifications are a plus.
Jobsite Requirements:
Must meet all job site access standards and have no restrictions from clients or project partners. Must have a valid Drivers License.
