Engineering Associate – Municipal Water/Wastewater Dallas, TX
Our client, a well-established engineering and environmental services organization, is seeking an enthusiastic early-career engineer to join their growing municipal water and wastewater team.
This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or junior engineers to gain hands-on experience, contribute to impactful public infrastructure projects, and develop technical skills within a supportive, collaborative environment.
- Assist in the design and evaluation of municipal water and wastewater systems, including treatment facilities, pipelines, sewer networks, and related infrastructure.
- Conduct fieldwork such as site visits, data collection, measurements, and sampling.
- Support the preparation of technical documents, including reports, permit applications, drawings, specifications, and design sketches.
- Perform basic engineering calculations in alignment with established standards.
- Collaborate with designers, CAD technicians, field staff, and senior engineers to support successful project delivery.
- Help track project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
- Communicate professionally with clients and escalate technical questions to senior team members when needed.
- Participate in mentorship and training activities with licensed engineers.
- Review technical documents and design deliverables for accuracy and quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering (ABET-accredited).
- EIT certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
- 0–2 years of engineering experience; exposure to municipal water/wastewater projects is a plus.
- Understanding of fundamental engineering principles and municipal infrastructure systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office®; familiarity with CAD software is a bonus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to perform fieldwork, including visits to active construction sites.
- Valid driver’s license.
