About the Role
A rapidly growing, engineering‑driven energy startup is searching for an experienced Journeyman Electrician to support residential battery‑storage projects in the greater Austin area. You will install and service backup‑power systems, troubleshoot field issues, guide quality‑control checks, and mentor new installation crews. Your work will be critical to expanding a next‑generation distributed‑energy fleet.
Key Responsibilities
•System Installation – Install residential backup‑battery systems and related equipment.
•Diagnostics & Repair – Identify root causes of field failures and perform corrective actions to meet inspection standards.
•Inspection Support – Coordinate with local inspectors/AHJs, address punch‑list items, and remain on‑site during inspections when required.
•Crew Enablement – Onboard and coach new installation teams, sharing best practices and safety procedures.
•Code Compliance – Apply NEC and local codes while working with single‑phase and three‑phase electrical systems up to 240 V.
•After‑Hours Coverage – Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule for urgent electrical issues during nights and weekends.
Required Qualifications
•Active Journeyman Electrician or Residential Wireman license (Texas).
•4+ years of hands‑on residential electrical experience.
•Demonstrated expertise with battery‑backup systems, EV‑charger installs, or whole‑home generators.
•Solid understanding of NEC regulations, permitting processes, and job‑site safety protocols.
Compensation depends on license and experience
