Our Midland office is looking for a Department of Transportation Manager; we offer great benefits and competitive pay!
The DOT Manager is responsible for ensuring Mulholland remains fully compliant with all DOT regulations. This role oversees driver qualification files, vehicle compliance, and regulatory reporting while developing policies and procedures to meet federal, state, local, and environmental requirements.
- Oversees all driver qualification files and audits the program
- Audit driver electronic logs for Hours of Service (HOS) compliance
- The manager develops strategic initiatives and maintains safety standards to support the organization’s operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Manage highway and hazardous materials permits
- Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and optimize resource allocation for transportation activities.
- Lead, train, and evaluate transportation staff to foster a high-performance team environment and conduct driver road tests
- Coordinate with other departments to meet logistical needs and support organizational objectives.
- Analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain relationships with vendors, regulatory agencies, and other external partners.
- Prepare reports on transportation performance metrics for senior management review.
- 3-5 years proven experience in transportation management or logistics roles; prior supervisory experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and develop strategic solutions.
- Degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is desirable.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
