Meritum Energy is seeking a motivated and compliance-focused DOT Owner Operator/Driver Recruiter to lead the full-cycle recruitment and onboarding process for CDL drivers and owner operators across multiple operating regions.
This role is responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring qualified safety-sensitive candidates while ensuring strict adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and company compliance standards. The ideal candidate will proactively build driver pipelines, develop strong relationships with hiring manager, and ensure the best candidate experience throughout the process.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic recruiting plans specific to CDL drivers and owner operators
- Source, screen, and engage qualified candidates through job boards, networking, and industry outreach
- Review and verify DOT driver applications for accuracy and completeness
- Create, post, and manage job advertisements internally and across external job boards and industry specific platforms
- Facilitate the new hire onboarding including offer letters, background checks and DOT review process
- Conduct regular follow-up meetings with Hiring Managers to assess recruiting effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed
- Communicates hiring process, timelines, and compliance requirements to candidates
- All other duties as assigned

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or relevant field or a minimum of two (2) years of recruiting experience (transportation or CDL recruiting preferred)
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and managers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Independent worker, detail-oriented & proactive problem solver
- Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines with high quality work
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Must be proficient with using the current Microsoft Office suite
- Regularly and safely lifts, carries, and handles supplies and equipment weighing at least 20 pounds
- Must be able to sit extended periods of time
- Repeat the same movements
- Ability to speak clearly and eloquently with the ability to be responsive
