Chief of Staff, Commercial

⚡ The Opportunity

BKV is a $2B publicly traded natural gas company (NYSE: BKV) expanding aggressively into carbon capture and power generation. We need a strategic operator to serve as Chief of Staff to our Chief Commercial Officer—driving execution, managing high-stakes initiatives, and connecting our commercial organization to the rest of BKV.

This isn't your typical Chief of Staff role. You'll have delegated authority to advance commercial priorities, direct exposure to our Board and investors, and ownership of projects that shape how we commercialize natural gas, CCUS, and power assets across the value chain.

🎯 What You'll Do

Strategic Execution

- Partner with the CCO to develop and execute commercial strategies across upstream, midstream, power, and CCUS

- Track commercial KPIs and performance metrics; analyze outcomes and identify opportunities

- Prepare materials for Board meetings, investor calls, and executive leadership

Cross-Functional Leadership

- Lead complex projects spanning sales, trading, marketing, business development, and regulatory affairs

- Build bridges across Upstream, Midstream, Finance, Corporate Development, and Legal

- Drive process improvements and operational efficiency

Stakeholder Management

- Act as liaison and gatekeeper between CCO and internal/external stakeholders

- Coordinate with strategic partners, industry bodies, government agencies, and JV stakeholders

- Mentor commercial analysts and coordinators

✅ What You Bring

Required:

- 7+ years in energy (strategy, operations, or consulting) within the natural gas value chain

- Deep understanding of commercial functions: sales, trading, marketing, business development

- Working knowledge of natural gas regulatory landscape and commercial contracting

- Experience preparing executive/Board-level materials and tracking business KPIs

- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data tools (Excel, Power BI, Smartsheet)

- Bachelor's required; MBA or master's strongly preferred

Ideal Background:

- Consulting (McKinsey, BCG, Bain) or investment banking in energy

- Prior Chief of Staff, strategic operations, or corporate development experience

- Public company exposure (investor relations, Board governance)

- Track record in fast-growth or rapidly maturing organizations
