Alpine Polytech is seeking a chemist who is excited to push the limits of polymer and materials performance testing in some of the most demanding environments on earth. As an integral part of our ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation, you will help design and execute rigorous test plans that help leading customers in energy, aerospace, automotive, other advanced industries qualify materials and components for real-world service conditions. You will join a fast growing, highly technical team known for developing customized test regimens when existing standards are not enough, giving you the opportunity to combine hands-on lab work with problem-solving that directly influences field performance and reliability for our clients.
- Receive, inspect, and log all incoming chemicals and test materials according to • established SOP verifying sample integrity (labeling, packaging, condition) and reconcile with customers/stakeholders
- Maintain chemical and material inventories, including proper segregation, labeling, storage conditions, and expiration-date management.
- Communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders regarding sample receipt, discrepancies, documentation needs, and status updates.
- Prepare and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions as needed using the lab’s document control system.
- Follow quality system requirements in all work, including use of controlled forms, revision-controlled documents, and proper corrections to records.
- Report nonconformances or safety concerns promptly and participate in corrective actions as requested.
- Set up, conduct and analyze tests utilizing standards and specifications
- Write final reports, gain review from peers, send to customers, revise as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area consistent with laboratory safety and work-flow procedures
- Comply with all lab safety policies, including proper PPE use, chemical handling, and waste management practices.
- Safely handle and move boxes and containers of chemicals and materials; must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have qualifications that include:
- Education in chemistry, science and/or chemical engineering (4 yr degree required)
- Experience handling hazardous chemicals or working in a laboratory, industrial, or O&G
- Working knowledge of lab testing methods and equipment
- Expertise with MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Understanding MSDS and typical safety precautions utilized while working with chemicals,
may include storage, mixing and use of chemicals and disposal methods.
- Quality Control – conducting tests and inspections of products and processes to evaluate
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail – careful about details and thorough in completing work
- Self-motivated and able to work individually and/or in a team environment
- Work is performed indoors in environmentally controlled office and laboratory spaces; PPE
- Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (full-time).
- Pay range: $30.00–$42.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
