Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist with hands-on experience in programming with Mastercam and operating Haas and Hurco CNC machines. This is a key role in our small but busy machine shop, where precision, reliability, and independent problem-solving are essential. The ideal candidate is comfortable taking a job from blueprint to finished part with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

- Program CNC machines using Mastercam (2D/3D toolpaths)

- Set up and operate Haas and Hurco CNC milling and/or turning centers

- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications

- Perform machine setup, tooling changes, and program edits at the control

- Conduct quality checks with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other inspection tools

- Maintain clean and organized work area and follow shop safety procedures

- Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize setups for efficiency

- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience with CNC machining in a job shop or production environment

- Proficiency with Mastercam programming software (Mill 2D/3D; Lathe a plus)

- Experience operating and setting up Haas and Hurco CNC machines

- Solid understanding of G-code, tooling, speeds/feeds, and machining best practices

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs in a small team environment

- Familiarity with various materials including aluminum, steel, and plastics

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with 4th axis or multi-axis machining

- Knowledge of conversational programming (Hurco WinMax)

- Manual machining experience (bridgeports, lathes, etc.)
