Assembly Bay Technician

Description:

Excel Machinery Ltd has an opportunity available in Amarillo, Texas, for a full-time Assembly Bay Technician. Previous experience is a plus but will consider an entry level person with the right qualifications who can be trained in the specifics.

Position Summary:

The Assembly Bay Technician is responsible for assembling, fitting, and preparing conveyor systems and related components according to engineering drawings and company standards. This position requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assemble conveyor systems and components according to blueprints, work orders, and specifications.

- Use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment to build, align, and secure parts.

- Inspect parts and assemblies for accuracy, quality, and proper fit.

- Operate forklifts, cranes, or hoists to move materials and completed assemblies.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety standards.

- Troubleshoot assembly issues and communicate effectively with supervisors and engineering staff.

- Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on tools and equipment used in assembly.

- Follow daily production schedules to meet deadlines and customer requirements.

- Assist in loading/unloading conveyors for shipping or further processing.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Prior mechanical assembly, fabrication, or manufacturing experience preferred.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, etc.).

- Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems is a plus.

- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and teamwork.

Work Environment:

- Shop floor/assembly bay environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.

- Requires use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, hearing protection).

- Hours - Monday - Friday from 7am - 5:00pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
