Job Summary
The Analyst II – Corporate Planning will support the Corporate Planning team by preparing financial analyses, supporting cross-functional initiatives, and contributing to the development of commercial bid evaluations. This role is instrumental in ensuring informed decision-making through detailed forecasting, business case development, and scenario modeling. The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling skills, a high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and a collaborative mindset.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Bid Evaluation Support:
Collaborates with various departments (including Business Development, Operations, Human Resources) to prepare comprehensive bid evaluation models for commercial tenders. Responsibilities include:
•Develops dynamic financial models and sensitivity analyses that assess the economics of potential contracts.
•Incorporates key operational and financial assumptions such as day rates, mobilization costs, rig operating expenses, and regional tax considerations.
•Prepares summary outputs and decision-ready dashboards that highlight profitability metrics, risk exposures, and scenario comparisons.
Single Asset Valuations:
Supports the evaluation of individual rig assets across a range of use cases, including internal planning, asset redeployment, sales, or acquisition considerations. Tasks include:
•Builds cash flow models to assess the financial performance and value of standalone assets under various scenarios.
•Analyzes contract economics, utilization outlook, operating cost profiles, and capital expenditure forecasts.
•Summarizes findings in clear, decision-oriented presentations for internal leadership or strategic partners.
•Coordinates with Operations, Engineering, and Asset Management teams to validate model inputs and assumptions.
Ad-hoc Strategic & Operational Projects:
Participates in a wide range of ad hoc initiatives that support Finance and executive leadership. Typical project scopes include:
•Partners with Finance management to streamline and enhance financial planning processes, reporting tools, and modeling templates.
•Prepares detailed reports and presentations for management and the Board of Directors that summarize findings and analyses related to long-range planning and other ad hoc initiatives.
Qualifications / Experience
•Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Economics or Finance.
•Minimum of one to two (1 – 2) years of experience in finance or a related field.
Skills & Experience
•Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
•Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a high degree of initiative.
•Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-past environment.
•Strong analytical skills, with an emphasis on scenario and sensitivity analysis.
•High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
•Ability to communicate complex financial data clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
