Overview
Chroma Energy Group is high-growth Renewable Energy start-up company headquartered in Knoxville, TN. Chroma provides solar engineering, procurement, and construction services across the United States. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Skid Steer Operator to join us for a project based in Maryville, TN. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation and construction site experience. As a Skid Steer Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of machinery, ensuring safety and efficiency on the job site while contributing to the successful completion of projects. When not operating a machine, you will be expected to perform assigned duties as needed by the supervisors.
This is a contract/temporary position that will last for the duration of this project. We estimate it to take around 3-4 months to complete. Time is from 7:30am - 3:30pm. You will be transporting solar modules and other materials around the job site. When not operating a machine, you will be expected to perform assigned duties as needed by the supervisors.
Duties
- Operate skid steer equipment to move, load, grade materials as needed.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the skid steer before and after use.
- Perform additional labor duties as required when not operating equipment.
- Safely load and unload materials, tools and equipment.
- Transport materials in a safe manner
- Follow all safety guidelines, company policies, and OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation with a focus on skid steer loaders.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on machinery.
- Experience with commercial driving; valid driver's license required.
- Knowledge of construction processes and site operations is essential.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
Work Environment
- Outdoor jobsite with varying weather conditions
- Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) that we will provide.
- May involve long hours or overtime as needed.
