A company in Memphis, Tennessee is looking for a EH&S Manager. Travel to the Little Rock, Arkansas facility is a must as well.
- Ensures compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) laws and regulations for a plant in Port Arthur and a plant in Baytown.
- Develops new and creative methods to drive continuous improvement of HSE practices.
- Ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
- Responsible for developing and managing safety programs (business continuity, worker’s compensation, general liability, Occupational Safety, etc.).
- Responsible for creating compliance tools to ensure Safety programs are adhered to and maintained in accordance with Corporate Risk Management & Safety compliance requirements.
- Consults on expense and capital projects that require operational safety oversight.
- Support Operations and Legal in regulatory requirements and incident management.
- Manage all company EHS training, including on-boarding/new hire training and any job specific training.
- Schedule and document employee H&S training.
- Maintain EHS supply inventory.
- Maintain EHS equipment calibrations.
- Site survey and document environmental compliance requirements.
- HSE technician will report to a corporate level HSE Director
- Complete and submit all environmental regulatory reports on time.
- Perform safety audits of company facilities, employees, and their work areas.
- Inspect safety equipment for proper working conditions.
- Manage medical surveillance program.
- Complete annual OSHA incident reports (300, 300A and 301).
- Run an effective Near Miss program.
- Investigate employee injuries and manage the medical response as needed, including worker’s compensation claims.
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Safety, Environmental, or other related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years experience working with hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste streams.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and training requirements, experience implementing and coaching best practices in the field.
- Strong knowledge of EPA, RCRA, CAA and DOT regulations regarding the transportation, storage and management of hazardous materials.
- Experience with city, state and federal compliance reporting requirements such as AWS, Tier II, TRI, P2 and IHW.
- Ability to read analytical and or laboratory data to characterize waste streams for the purpose of waste profiling.
- Apply necessary RCRA waste codes and recommend applicable PPE when identifying and managing waste streams.
- Experience managing or overseeing ER and HAZMAT spill response activities.
- 24 or 48 Hour HAZWOPER training, active certification is preferred but not required.
