This role is responsible for the implementation and execution X-energy’s Supply Chain’s vision, goals, and objectives for the development and operation of the TRISO-X fuel fabrication business. The Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading all supply chain activities at the operational site, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy while delivering performance objectives. This role oversees procurement, materials management, production planning, logistics, inventory control, and supplier relationships to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and reliable operations. The Supply Chain Director serves as a key member of the site leadership team and is accountable for driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across the supply chain.
- Accountable for individual, and direct reports, category procurements (including tactical).
- Ensure and facilitate direct communication between internal stakeholders including Engineering, Procurements/Contracts, Accounting, Project Management, Scheduling, Business Development and Executive Management.
- Ensure that supplier performance issues and emergent issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Develop close working relationships with critical suppliers (executive and working level) and end customers.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure that contract terms and conditions are being met or exceeded and performance meets customer expectations.
- Supervise and ensure execution of supplier alliance process and all supplier relationships through development programs and supplier alliance periodic meetings.
- Perform category spend and risk analysis; plan and implement negotiation strategies; design and implement category and supplier risk mitigation strategies; plan and implement contract management for contracts within category.
- Provide direction to engineering, contract administrators, procurement and sourcing specialists and other supply personnel, as appropriate, within and across spend categories.
- Identify and implement sourcing and category management best practices.
- Identify and manage category risks; and align category profiles with business needs, company direction, and X-energy's goals.
- With input from Supply Chain leadership, develop and manage Supply Chain annual and project specific operating budgets including staffing forecasts.
- Perform data analysis and development.
- Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain or industrial engineering, or other relevant area from an accredited university or institution.
- Typically, fifteen plus years of general work experience.
- Proven track record in manufacturing or operations-focused supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, supply chain analytics, and planning tools.
- Expertise in procurement, logistics, materials management, and supplier development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive cultural change.
- Technical and commercial competency in supply chain for industrial manufacturing
