Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking a Construction and Logistics General Foreperson
to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team.
This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 4 days on, 3 days off rotation.
This position is open to candidates who reside in close proximity of the McIlvenna Bay site or those willing to relocate.Foran Mining is a modern mining development and exploration company advancing Canada's only greenfield copper project currently under construction: the McIlvenna Bay deposit in Saskatchewan. With commercial production expected in mid-2026, this world-class deposit contains copper, zinc, gold, and silver – key metals for the global transition to green energy.
As part of the Mine Management Team, the Construction and Logistics General Foreperson
will be responsible for overseeing and managing all underground construction and logistics for the operation. This will include construction of battery charge bays, refuge stations, paste fill infrastructure, bulkheads, as well as managing the underground logistics team to ensure efficient storage, handling, delivery and cost containment of materials.
- Implement and enforce safety policies; conduct inspections, identify hazards, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Plan and coordinate construction activities to meet quality and schedule targets.
- Set up best-practice inventory management for underground and surface laydown areas.
- Establish a work management process to schedule and kit materials for construction.
- Work with long-term planning to align construction activities and timelines.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and future vendors.
- Train, guide, and support the team to maintain skill and motivation.
- Allocate labor, equipment, and materials to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor budgets and support cost-effective decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and minimize site impact.
- Communicate progress, risks, and opportunities with site management and engineering.
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices for performance.
- Develop and execute emergency response plans; ensure personnel readiness.
- Ensure compliance with all mining laws, regulations, and permit requirements.- 10+ years mining industry experience in progressively responsible roles (e.g., mining engineer, shift supervisor).
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience managing teams and coordinating operations.
- Strong safety focus with the ability to lead by example.
- Project management skills to plan, schedule, and deliver mining activities on time.
- Effective leadership and team management skills to support a positive, productive work culture.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with site management, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges and optimize operations.
- Experience with budget management and cost control.
- Knowledge of mining laws, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and permitting processes.
- Ability to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and implementing best practices.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and operational needs.
We offer a competitive starting salary range of $130,000 - $140,000/year based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.
