Job Overview:
This is an exciting 16-month Co-op Student opportunity to provide support to Kingston Midstream engineers responsible for the integrity of liquids pipelines. The successful Co-op Student will primarily focus on supporting the Pipeline Integrity department with the daily activities necessary to manage integrity threats, including inspections, data analysis and verifications, assessments, and recommendations for mitigative actions.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support Pipeline Integrity Engineers with their work and complete assigned tasks which may include:
- Collect, manage and analyze pipeline construction and condition data from inspections
- Prepare documentation to obtain approvals and funding for projects
- Conduct quality assurance activities and liaise with service providers to resolve issues
- Develop and compile documents needed for the safe execution of the work
- Provide support on pipeline integrity matters and execute requests stakeholders in a timely manner
- Work with stakeholders to develop project justification, economics and alternatives analysis in evaluating project feasibility
Office environment with occasional day travel throughout the Kingston Midstream pipeline system to view system infrastructure and meet with stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Enrollment in an Engineering program at a qualified education institution
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on a frequent basis, including both office and field staff
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license and an acceptable driver’s abstract is an asset
